Cover Kitchen Remodeling: The Santa Clarita Owner’s Guide
A full kitchen remodeling in Santa Clarita typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on cabinet count, countertop material, and whether you’re moving plumbing or electrical. We stock and install all major components that fit Cover kitchens – cabinetry, countertops, backsplashes, islands, and hardware – and we match them to your existing layout without guesswork. Most homeowners call us after a cabinet face delaminates, a drawer slide seizes, or a countertop seam splits open, and they want to know if the fix is swapping one piece or redoing the whole run.

Sawyer Remodel Santa Clarita is an independent contractor, not affiliated with Cover. What we do is know how their kitchens are built, which spec changes happen between model years, and what it costs to make yours right again.
Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover kitchens in this market fall into three rough groups: builder-grade slab-door lines from the early 2000s, mid-tier shaker lines from roughly 2010 through 2020, and the newer flat-panel and integrated-handle runs showing up in Valencia and Stevenson Ranch homes built after 2021. The differences matter. Slab-door Cover cabinets use 32mm European hinge spacing; the newer flat-panel lines switched to 35mm cup depth on several series. Order a replacement door based on the old measurements and you’ll end up with a hinge that binds or a door that never sits flush.
The fastest way to identify your exact parts: pull a drawer and check for a stamped code on the underside of the drawer box, usually a three- or four-digit series number. Cover’s builder lines also print a small ink stamp on the backside of upper cabinet rails. If the stamp is gone, measure the hinge cup diameter and the overlay. Bring us those two numbers and we can tell you in five minutes whether you need OEM spec or a quality aftermarket equivalent. For most Santa Clarita homes we recommend aftermarket cabinet doors and drawer fronts from the same US and Canadian mills that supply their shaker lines – you get the same maple or birch core at roughly 20 to 30 percent below OEM list.

Signs Your Cover Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Drawer slides grind or stick within the first three inches of travel. This is almost always a worn ball-bearing slide, and in Santa Clarita’s dry summers the factory grease dries out faster than coastal markets. You’ll hear it before you see it – a dry rattle on open, a hard stop at mid-travel.
- Cabinet doors won’t stay closed or bounce open. The soft-close damper inside the hinge has failed. Cover’s builder-grade lines used plastic dampers that crack after about seven to ten years of daily use; the metal-damper replacement is a straight swap at the same screw pattern.
- Thermofoil facing peels or bubbles along door edges. Heat and repeated cleaning lift the film from the MDF core. This is the most common Cover-specific failure we see in homes with south- or west-facing kitchens, where afternoon sun hits the cabinet run.
- Countertop seams open or shift. Granite and quartz tops settle as the cabinet boxes beneath them shift, especially on Santa Clarita’s expansive clay soils. A seam that catches your fingernail is the first sign the substrate needs leveling before re-seaming.
- Island overhang sags or shows a hairline crack at the support knee wall. Cover’s stock island brackets were undersized for anything beyond a 10-inch overhang. We replace them with steel L-brackets rated for the full cantilever before the stone fails.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Cover-compatible kitchen remodeling in Santa Clarita lands between $14,000 and $45,000 installed. The low end covers a smaller galley or L-shaped kitchen with stock shaker doors, laminate or basic quartz tops, and no layout changes. The high end is a larger kitchen with an island, Cambria or Caesarstone countertops, custom cabinet modifications, and plumbing or electrical relocations.
Line-item pricing, because you should know the ballpark before you call:
- Cabinetry and cabinet door/drawer replacement: $4,000 – $13,000
- Countertop installation: $2,000 – $6,500
- Backsplash installation: $800 – $2,500
- Kitchen island build or rebuild: $3,000 – $10,000
- Small kitchen remodel (partial, single run, one trade): $9,000 – $20,000
Every quote from us is a written price before work starts, with parts and labor separated. If the scope doesn’t change, the invoice matches the quote. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the workmanship for a full year after project close – if a drawer binds or a seam fails, we come back and fix it, no argument.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check the model numbers, measure hinge spacing, and photograph the damage. That’s all useful and it helps us arrive with the right parts on the truck. What we don’t recommend is pulling cabinet boxes off the wall or cutting countertop substrate without a second set of hands and a clear plan. Upper cabinets are screwed to studs under tension, and a dropped cabinet takes the cabinet below it, the countertop, and usually a floor tile with it. Countertop removal carries silica dust risk when cutting stone, and a cracked slab under load can pinch or drop without warning. That’s not a weekend project.
If it’s hinges, slides, doors, or drawer fronts, we can usually match and swap them same-day. If it’s structural – island supports, cabinet boxes, seam rework – call (661) 592-1977 and we’ll get you a written estimate after one visit.
FAQs

Builder-grade Cover cabinets typically hold up ten to fifteen years in Santa Clarita’s dry heat before hinges, slides, or thermofoil facing start failing. Better-grade shaker lines with metal dampers and solid wood drawer boxes run twenty years or more with basic maintenance.
A single door or drawer front can sometimes be re-laminated or re-hinged, but the cost usually doesn’t justify it – new aftermarket doors run $40 to $120 each depending on size and finish. We’ll tell you straight if repair is throwing money at a part that’s already done. Call (661) 592-1977 for an exact quote.
A partial refresh – doors, drawer fronts, slides, and countertop on a single cabinet run – usually takes two to four working days. A full kitchen with island rebuild and plumbing moves runs three to six weeks, with the written timeline in your quote before work starts.
We stock common hinge sizes, soft-close dampers, slides, and shaker door blanks on the truck for same-day swaps. Custom door and drawer front sizes are ordered from the same mills that supply Cover’s shaker lines, and we also carry KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone lines when you want a full brand-name upgrade. Call (661) 592-1977 and we’ll confirm what’s in stock for your model.
