Dave M., Lead Technician
Dave has seventeen years in residential remodeling, the last nine of them with Sawyer Remodel Santa Clarita. He started as a finish carpenter, then moved into full bathroom and kitchen tear-outs when he joined Luca’s crew. Dave holds a California General B contractor classification and is our lead on structural work, including load-bearing wall alterations and header replacements. He’s the guy who spots the vent stack hiding behind the drywall before it becomes a $2,000 surprise. Outside of work, Dave rebuilds vintage motorcycles, which means he has the patience to deal with plumbing that hasn’t been touched since 1982.
Maria S., Senior Installer
Maria runs our tile, waterproofing, and finish work. She’s certified in Schluter waterproofing systems, which matters in Santa Clarita because valley homes see wild temperature swings and slab movement that can crack a poorly built shower pan in under two years. Maria is also our go-to for Schluter edge trim (the metal strip that waterproofs where your tile meets the floor) and for laying large-format tile without lippage. She’s been with Sawyer Remodel since 2016. When she’s not on a job site, Maria is usually hiking the trails off Sand Canyon or attempting to keep the gophers out of her vegetable garden.
Chris T., Service Coordinator
Chris is the voice on the phone when you call (661) 592-1977. He’s the one who schedules the written estimate, confirms live arrival time tracking through The Relay Standard, and sends you the before-and-after photo updates as the job progresses. Chris has been with Sawyer Remodel Santa Clarita for eight years, and he knows our material catalog cold: which Cambria or Caesarstone colors are currently in stock, what the lead time is on KraftMaid cabinetry, and whether Kohler or Moen has a fixture that fits your mounting configuration without a workaround. If you call at 2 a.m. because a supply line burst, Chris answers. That’s the job. He also bakes sourdough and will occasionally bring a loaf to the shop.
Ana R., Apprentice
Ana joined Sawyer Remodel in 2024 through a local trades program and works alongside Dave and Maria on every project we run in Santa Clarita. She handles demolition prep, jobsite protection, material staging, and the daily cleanup that keeps your house livable while the work is in progress. Ana is working toward her own contractor classification, and under Dave’s supervision she’s already leading smaller finish tasks like baseboard, crown, and hardware installation. She grew up in Canyon Country and knows half the neighborhood by name. If something on the jobsite feels off, Ana is the one who says so out loud, which is exactly what we want.
